Because Joseph was most loved and favoured by his father over his brothers, his brothers were very jealous of him. Because he constantly told on them, they hated him. When Joseph told them about his dreams, and they realized the meaning of the dreams, they hated him even more. They decided to eliminate him.
Joseph helped his brothers with their work. At home he told his father confidentially everything his brothers had done. Therefore they hated him.
The father, Jacob, loved Joseph most amongst his sons. That’s why he gave him a splendid coat as a present.
Joseph dreamed that he was in a field with his brothers and parents. They cut cereal and made up sheaves from it. Suddenly Josephs sheaf stood up and the sheaves of his family stood around him and bowed before him.
